Midland Bank - Listening Bank - Car Loan - UK Advert

Hi, has anyone in the UK heard of Net Car Loans?

I found interesting information about car loans & options here. http://all-debt-consolidation-loan.blogspot.com/2007/08/car-loans.htmlGood luck!

I am looking to immigrate to the UK from the US. What happens to my personal loans and finances?

I am looking to immigrate to the UK from the USA within the next year to pursue some career opportunities over there. I currently have a mountain of student loans, credit cards, car loans etc. here in the US.

What happens when I make that move? Will I still be able to continue paying my loans here in the US without any problems? What potential financial issues might come up if I choose to make this career move?

I'm in the process of immigrating to Canada and perhaps you will run into the same sorts of things I am. Keep your US bank account open because its so much easier to pay US bills with US banks. Also, it was slightly difficult to get a Canadian bank account here without being a permanent resident yet. Its a pain to have to wire transfer or mail deposits to the US account, but really easier for the bills. You can still use the ATM card overseas, but you get hit with ATM fees and international service fees which are 10% of each purchase, at least with Wachovia.

Make sure all of your bills are on email notification and automatic billpay due to mail delays and the fact the US postal service does not offer international mail forwarding. You have to sign up with a private service which offers that, or have your mail sent to a relative willing to mail it all to you monthly.

Also of note, even though Canada uses the same credit reporting agencies that the US does, such as Equifax and TransUnion, they don't have access to the US side of things so your credit is no good. I wasn't even allowed to co-sign a loan with my husband for our new car. Once my immigration is complete, I'll get a credit card and start rebuilding my credit all over again.

On the subject of cars, I dont know about the UK but in parts of Canada they have mandatory provincial insurance like here in BC. They slap you with a base rate of $317 a month for car insurance. If you can prove you have at least 8 years of claim free coverage from your US company, they'll give you a 40% discount, so I was able to get mine down to $190, but do request that "Letter of Experience" and dont do anything stupid with tickets or accidents or you'll pay through the nose.

I think that's about all the financial issues I can come up with from my own experiences. Last bit of advice is to request notarized copies of every piece of identification you have, and immigration status papers, then photocopy it and carry it with you everywhere.

Is there anywhere I can secure a loan against my car in the UK?

I am in desperate need of a loan of £1500 to stop my home being repossessed by my landlord. We fell behind on the rent when my husband was off work ill for over 4 months and we were not aware that we could claim housing or council tax benefit. My husband is now off work again having had an operation to reconstruct his cruciate ligament and his doc has told him he will not be able to return to work until March at the very earliest. I am trying to find part-time work that can fit in around my caring for my husband and two small children (who I have to take and pick up from school every day). Were were not told about the amount of the arrears until it had amassed over £2k and even though we came to an agreement with our landlord (housing Ass) and kept it up, they are still taking us to court. The date is set for 18th Dec and I have no-one to turn to. I have got to clear the arrears or we will be made homeless. Previously, our rent record was good.
We had some problems 4 or more years ago with credit card arrears when I lost my job, and for this reason we cannot get an unsecured loan. If anyone knows of a company in the UK who arrange loans using your car as security, please let me know as this is making me ill.

Sorry to here about your plight, the only thing i can think about is to bite the bullet and sell your car and get a much cheaper one.
I know it's not much help hope things work out for you.

can i use my car as security for a short term loan. (uk) ?

my car is worth about £2.500. if anyone knows about this could you please give any details?

sure if you have the title - in the us we do it all the time it is called a secured loam!!!!

Can a car finance company take my car? UK ONLY?

I have a loan with a high interest car finance company and have fallen behind with payments. The have been harassing me on the phone and have even been to my House threatening me. They asked for log book and car keys but I refused as I said they would need official papers to take the car but they said they didn't? Any advice please!!!!
smartA$$...I said UK only...you really need to learn to read. Our laws are different to the US

Contact the C.A.B they should be able to help you but I would have thought that coming to your home and threatening you is against the law?

Shares of Spyker soar after new offer for Saab MarketWatch

Shares of Spyker rose 26% in recent trading. The gains came after the shares fell sharply on Friday.

"We are very confident that our renewed offer will remove the impasse that was standing in the way of an agreement on Friday, and this would still allow us to conclude the deal prior to the expiry of the deadline originally set by GM of December 31," Spyker CEO Victor R. Muller said in a statement.

The new offer "addresses every known issue brought to light during the initial negotiations" and has the full backing of Saab's management, Muller said.

It "eliminates the need for an EIB loan approval prior to year end, for example, which will allow the deal to be concluded within GM's deadline," he said, referring to a potential 400 million euro loan from the European Investment Bank.

IHS Global Insight auto analyst Ian Fletcher said the renewed offer raises the question of where Spyker will find the cash to buy Saab and fund it for the foreseeable future.
