I am in desperate need of a loan of £1500 to stop my home being repossessed by my landlord. We fell behind on the rent when my husband was off work ill for over 4 months and we were not aware that we could claim housing or council tax benefit. My husband is now off work again having had an operation to reconstruct his cruciate ligament and his doc has told him he will not be able to return to work until March at the very earliest. I am trying to find part-time work that can fit in around my caring for my husband and two small children (who I have to take and pick up from school every day). Were were not told about the amount of the arrears until it had amassed over £2k and even though we came to an agreement with our landlord (housing Ass) and kept it up, they are still taking us to court. The date is set for 18th Dec and I have no-one to turn to. I have got to clear the arrears or we will be made homeless. Previously, our rent record was good.
We had some problems 4 or more years ago with credit card arrears when I lost my job, and for this reason we cannot get an unsecured loan. If anyone knows of a company in the UK who arrange loans using your car as security, please let me know as this is making me ill.

My current car was purchased using a PCP finance loan and its superb so ideally would like to use it again on my next car in the coming months. I would like to buy a 2005 Ford Mustang GT from an offical US Dealer and then import it myself as I'm a UK resident (have been since birth). I have seen many companies offering a PCP in the UK but only by selecting one of their cars I don't want to do this and instead would like to source the vehicle myself. Nick Reilly, the chief executive of GM Europe, said he was confident of the securing the €3.3bn (£2.9bn) that the company needs to finance its restructuring, despite a sceptical reaction in Germany.
The turnaround proposals, which have been in development since GM scrapped a deal to sell Opel and Vauxhall to Canadian group Magna last November, include 520 jobs cuts in the UK, a better outcome than was feared last year as GM Europe teetered on the brink of collapse.
At the Luton van-making plant, 369 jobs will go, while 150 sales and administration roles will also be cut. However, Mr Reilly said there would be no job losses at Ellesmere Port, where the Astra is manufactured, and he plans to introduce a third shift by the middle of next year.
In a further vote of confidence in UK manufacturing, Mr Reilly said he was exploring potential ventures that could maintain production at the Luton van plant beyond 2013, when a partnership with Renault ends.
